01/01/10: Risky's Sponsor Karen Tonkin of Emerald, has donated $1500 so we can buy the materials needed to build Risky's new home. Construction will happen during February. 01/10/09: Risky has moved into Wally's old home and Wally the Koala has moved into a brand new facility. Risky, like all the other Koala's at Cooberrie Park, will soon be enjoying the new Koala facility which is currently under construction.
01/07/09: Risky has put on lots of weight and now weighs 6.2kg, just three months ago he weighed 5.6 kilos - so he has gained more than half a kilo in three months. The average male Koala weight in Queensland is seven kilos so not far to go before he reaches full size. 01/04/09: Risky is doing very well and has stopped Bellowing and has calmed down alot since the end of breeding season. So there shouldnt be any noise made from the Koalas over the next few months.01/01/09: Risky has now started to Bellow which is the mating call for Koalas, It sounds similar to a snorting pig! 01/10/08: Risky   is still the favourite among guests as he always makes them feel special by snuggling into them. 01/07/08: Risky continues to be our most active Koala, everytime he hears a human voice he climbs down his tree to greet them at the window. 01/04/08: Risky is a big favourite amongst guests, he likes to nibble peoples shirt collars (only if they smell nice) 01/01/08: Risky likes to play and jump on your back when your trying to clean out his enclosure. He loves to nibble shirts. 01/10/07: Risky is doing really well and never stops eating. He is eating alot of leaf but still needs his milk. He now gets bottle fed twice a day. Risky now goes in his enclosure at the park everyday but still comes home at night. It won't be long until he is staying at the park full time. It is Riskys first birthday on 23/10/07. 01/07/07: After his mum Vicky fell ill, Risky is being handreared. Risky gets bottle fed every four hours, he is eating lots of Eucalyptus leaf and is learning to climb around his play gym. He has an artificial soft toy Koala to keep him company.

Teddy April 2008Name: Teddy

Species: Koala

Date of Birth: 01/01/06

Weight: 6.7kg

Personality: Very nosy, attention seeker

01/10/09: Teddy is a handsome boy and a loving Koala and still looks like a Teddy Bear. 01/07/09: Teddy still loves his cuddles and is the most affectionate of all the Koalas at Cooberrie Park. People from around the world love the fact the Teddy snuggles into them and gets so comfortable!
01/04/09: Teddy has stopped bellowing as the Breeding season is almost over. 01/01/09: Teddy has started to bellow which is the Koala Mating call. Being next to Wally the dominant male means that competition in calling is fierce. Wally will always win the calling competition because he doesn't want to lose to Teddy. 01/10/08: Teddy is now enjoying his new enclosure, and likes to sleep at the front where everyone can see him. 01/07/08: Teddy has moved into his new enclosure alongside Wally and Mulli Grub! 01/04/08: Always chilled out, getting heavy 01/01/08: Teddy is getting to be a big boy now, He has developed his scent gland on his chest and has started to mark his territory. 01/10/07: Teddy still loves attention and loves to be held which is one of the reasons why he is such a favourite to visitors. Teddy will soon no longer be our youngest holding Koala as our two Koala Joeys will be ready for holdings in a couple of months time. 01/07/07: Teddy just loves attention. Every time we go into his enclosure to clean it out or give him new food he climbs all over us. Once he's on its hard for   us to get him off. 01/07/09: Cleo's weight has been increasing with the arrival of her next baby. So far it has put it's arms, legs and face out of the pouch. It won't be long until it's whole body can be seen. Weight: Too Heavy to weigh

Personality: Friendly

Update: The weather has once again started to warm up so Donald is spending more and more time underground in his burrows during the day. He is very active at night time and loves playing with his toys

01/07/09: July is Donald's favourite month of the year. He can be found most of the days outside of his burrows enjoying the warm dry weather Central Queensland offers in Winter. As you know Wombat's don't like the heat so Donald will be taking full advantage of this time of year until Springtime rolls around once again and Donald retreats to his burrows until nighttime when it's cool again. 01/04/09: Donald's favourite time of the year is coming up, Winter. The weather has already started to cool down so Donald is coming out more during the day instead of waiting for night time to come. 01/01/09: The last couple of months has been pretty hot, so Donald has been hiding in his burrows quite alot. He usually does come out for his lunch but then hides again until dusk when it is much cooler. 01/10/08: Donald has enjoyed the weather over the last few months as it hasnt been too hot so he has spending his days outside instead of in his burrows. That may all change as summer is coming up. 01/07/08: Donald has a couple of new toys in his enclosure, he has a plastic rubbish bin which he likes to climb in to and roll, he also has a (very Strong) soccer ball which he likes to kick around his enclosure. 01/04/08: Donald is Mr Cool, very friendly, loves to sleep.

01/07/09: Jeda's skin condition has dramatically improved with the cooler weather. She is in great spirits, however a tree fell on her cage so she stayed in temporary on-site accomodation for just 1 day while we had our fantastic builders urgently repair her enclosure. That is one of the downfalls of having massive mature and ancient trees in the sanctuary however these trees provide a stunning back drop for all the enclosures. 01/04/09: Jeda's skin condition is improving and is remaining quite stable. Hopefully winter will help Jeda's condition get under control. 01/01/09: Jeda is now on monthly steroid injections as she has a skin condition which causes irration along her nose and ears. The injections seem to be working as she isnt scratching as much any more and her ears and nose are in better condition. 01/10/08: Jeda just had a big makeover in her enclosure, All the gardens were tended to getting it ready for the wet season.

Lollipop hasnt had any babies yet, but hopefully she will have some in 2009.

During the day however, she searches out the sun and lies in it, when the sun moves she follows it again to lie in it. 01/04/09: Diddy Girl lives with Luka in a new enclosure which was custom built in 2008. 01/07/09: Coco has put on almost a kilo over the last three months. The average weight for a Female in Queensland is five kilos so she is more than half way there. We are now confident that her Mum Mulli-Grub no longer lets her drink milk so she is weaned (even though Coco would still love to have her milk)
01/04/09: Coco is currently our smallest Koala that you can see when you visit Cooberrie Park. Soon she will no longer be the smallest when Coco's Aunty Cleo's baby comes out of the pouch. Coco still drinks milk from her mum.
